What’s included in the flat fee — five service areas
Every service below is included in the $900 per month flat fee. There are no add-on fees for investment management, no commissions, no proprietary products, and no referral fees received or paid. The five service areas are designed to work as one integrated offering — your financial plan, your portfolio, and your tax strategy are coordinated, not run in separate silos.

Comprehensive Financial Planning
Your financial life, organized and optimized — without hidden agendas.
Using eMoney, one of the most advanced financial planning platforms available to independent advisors, I help you build a living, dynamic plan that evolves with your goals. As a CFP® fiduciary, I’m legally bound to put your interests first — every recommendation is made because it’s what’s best for you, not because it pays a commission. Comprehensive planning covers cash flow, debt and savings strategy, insurance review, education planning, charitable giving, and the integration of every other piece of your financial life.
- ✓Track net worth and spending across all accounts (including outside accounts)
- ✓Model “what-if” retirement and income scenarios
- ✓Visualize tax projections and cash flow plans
- ✓Coordinate every piece of your plan in one place
Investment Management
Low-cost, tax-efficient portfolios — built for retirees.
As a flat-fee fiduciary advisor, I build and manage portfolios using low-cost, broad-market index ETFs that align with your goals, risk tolerance, and long-term return needs. The portfolio is diversified across market regimes, includes a measured allocation to alternative asset classes like gold and commodities, and prioritizes after-tax returns through asset location and tax-loss harvesting. For clients who prefer pure index simplicity, I offer an index-fund-only version of the portfolio. Learn more about investment management →
- ✓Custody through Charles Schwab — accounts in your name
- ✓Tax-aware construction and withdrawal sequencing
- ✓Transparent portfolio analysis with Nitrogen
- ✓Personalized rebalancing and tax management via iRebal

Retirement Planning
Clarity and confidence for life’s next chapter.
Whether you’re planning to retire soon or are already there, retirement planning is about turning your assets into reliable, tax-efficient income — and making sure that income lasts. I help you build a strategy that balances income, lifestyle, and flexibility, with detailed Social Security analysis, Roth conversion modeling, and tax-aware withdrawal sequencing across your accounts. Learn more about retirement planning →
- ✓Social Security optimization (including support on SSA calls when needed)
- ✓Personalized retirement income strategies
- ✓Visual “what-if” modeling in eMoney
- ✓Tax-efficient withdrawal planning across pre-tax, Roth, and taxable accounts
Tax Planning
Planning beyond the return.
Most people meet with their CPA once a year — after the tax year is over and most of the planning opportunities are gone. I take a proactive, year-round approach to tax planning that minimizes your lifetime tax burden and helps you avoid costly surprises. Your tax strategy is fully integrated with your retirement plan and your portfolio — not run separately. Learn more about tax planning →
- ✓Analyze your tax return using Holistiplan
- ✓Model scenarios like Roth conversions and qualified charitable distributions
- ✓Manage tax brackets year by year, especially in the years before RMDs begin
- ✓Coordinate directly with your CPA when needed

Bespoke Wealth Advisor
Your financial partner on retainer — for everything, not just your investments.
Think of this as the ongoing relationship that ties everything together. From coordinating with your CPA and estate attorney to optimizing idle cash, reviewing beneficiary designations, and educating the next generation, this retainer-based relationship ensures every aspect of your financial life is aligned. There is no separate fee for any of this — it’s all included in the flat $900 per month.
- ✓Educate and support the next generation (no extra fee)
- ✓Work directly with your CPA or estate attorney
- ✓Identify idle cash and optimize it for higher yields
- ✓Review and update beneficiary designations to avoid probate

“After 12 years at Fidelity working with hundreds of clients, I built Evergreen because I wanted to be great for fewer people — not stretched across too many. The flat fee removes the conflict of interest. The integrated planning means everything talks to everything else. That’s the firm I would want as a client.”

Who these services are designed for
The clients who get the most value from Evergreen are pre-retirees five to ten years out from retirement, or retirees already in the distribution phase, with at least $1,000,000 in investable assets. Common situations include dual-income couples approaching retirement together, single retirees who want a fiduciary partner managing their financial life end-to-end, and professionals at career-tail (physicians, engineers, executives) with concentrated stock from a long career at one employer. In-person meetings are available in Boston (399 Boylston Street) and at Workbar locations in Burlington, Needham, and Framingham. Most clients meet by Zoom; Evergreen serves clients nationwide.
How the flat-fee model is different
Most advisors charge 1% of the assets they manage. On a $1 million portfolio, that’s $10,000 per year. On $2 million, $20,000. On $5 million, $50,000. The work involved doesn’t actually scale with the portfolio — a $5 million client doesn’t get five times the planning that a $1 million client gets. Evergreen charges $900 per month ($10,800 per year) for relationships of $1,000,000 or more. Fees are negotiable. No commissions, no proprietary products, no referral fees received or paid, and no kickbacks of any kind. For more on how the flat-fee model compares to traditional 1% AUM, see Fee Structure.

Frequently asked questions about Evergreen’s services
What’s included in Evergreen’s flat fee?
All five service areas — comprehensive financial planning, investment management, retirement planning, tax planning, and bespoke wealth advisory — are included for $900 per month ($10,800 per year). There are no additional fees for investment management, no commissions, no percentage of assets, and no referral fees. Our standard fee is $900 per month ($10,800 per year) for relationships of $1,000,000 or more.
Do you charge separately for investment management?
No. Investment management is included in the $900 per month flat fee. Most advisors charge 1% of assets per year for investment management on top of any planning fee — Evergreen does not. Our standard fee is $900 per month ($10,800 per year) for relationships of $1,000,000 or more.
Can I keep my existing portfolio?
Often, yes. Concentrated stock positions, legacy 401(k)s, and individual holdings with a low cost basis are all common situations. The first step is to evaluate what’s there, model the tax cost of any changes, and transition over time when it makes sense.
Who is Evergreen’s ideal client?
Pre-retirees and retirees with $1,000,000 or more in investable assets who want comprehensive, integrated financial planning, transparent flat-fee pricing, and a fiduciary CFP® partner managing their financial life end-to-end. Most clients are in the Greater Boston area, but Evergreen serves clients nationwide via Zoom.
